About the exhibition:

Visual Journeys by For Artistry will take you on a journey of discovery, along the individual paths of three artists that came together to form For Artistry and exhibit at Field Trip Gallery. Deborah, Sue and Doug share their view of the world in very different ways in this eclectic retrospective of their individual artistic journeys.

Deb's journey led her to complete a Bachelor of Creative Arts in 2015 at the University of Southern Queensland. After exploring and participating in various exhibitions. Deb is an award winning artist who's work has been featured at the MIFQ 25 year Anniversary Art Exhibition. In 2017, Deb's artistic journey ended abruptly with passing of her daughter Belinda. It took Deb six years to find the joy she once had holding a paint brush and in 2023 she started painting again. Her journey continues as she explores ways in which colour and emotions are related.

Sue, an avid traveller, has detailed her journeys around the world in her paintings using emotive colours and delicate brushstrokes. Her chosen path is to share that beauty when she arrives home. She began painting at High School in Scotland, but didn't return to it until, many years later in Australia, where Sue rediscovered a forgotten path, paved with colour and happiness.

Doug Kingsman has been within the creative industries for well over 50 years, first in performing arts and designing sets for stage and screen. He continues on his journey focusing on his love of the visual arts in which explores the beauty of nature and the mysteries of life. His work is exuberant; full of energy and joie de vivre and reminiscent of his performances on stage and screen.

Exhibiting alongside For Artistry is the work of artist Mandy D. Mandy D walks with people who are marginalized by disability. Her work is inclusive and interactive. Predominantly working with resin, her painted works include audio content and braille for the vision impaired, whilst her hanging sculptures, both landscapes and still lives, explore beauty in the abstract.
