Tasmanian Devil

Sunday 30th August, 2025

9:30am - 4:30pm

Materials included

OR Both workshops bundled for$495

We will spend the morning learning to sketch a realistic portrait of either a Barn Owl (24th August) or a Tasmanian Devil (30th August), and then the afternoon learning to use watercolour paint to create a portrait in colour.

By the end of the day you will have gained a deeper sense of wonder and connection to these wild beings, while growing your skills in observation and hand-eye coordination.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and all curious creatives, as Natalie will walk you through each element step by step with calm compassion and infectious wonder. Workshop sizes are kept intentionally small so that each person can be supported, empowered and celebrated in their creative journey.

The following supplies are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own as well if you would like:

  • Three graphite pencils of different grades

  • Kneadable Eraser

  • Blue Colerase Pencil

  • 20pg Sketchbook

  • Watercolour paint dot palette (enough paint for the project plus to play with later)

  • Ceramic dish for mixing

  • Waterbrush

  • 3 sheets cold press watercolour paper

  • 3 sheets hot pressed watercolour paper

  • White Gel Pen

  • Printed resource with reference

  • Lifetime access to recording of projects to continue to learn at your own convenience

Natalie has been teaching drawing and painting in realism online and in person since 2019. Her philosophy is that we are all inherently creative, and with open-hearted empowerment and inspiration we can bring our own unique beauty into the world. Creating art is creating story, and studying wildlife allows us to connect to the wild world that we are a part of, not apart from. Through mark making and pushing pigment around we deepen our ancestral connection with our wild beings relatives, which can only increase our compassion, reverence, and joy.

Images used in this listing are examples of online classes that Natalie has taught in the past.
