Over the past few years, the focus of Monica Usherβs work has been almost entirely on painting elements of her garden.
In this exhibition, she returns to a favourite subject, the Moth. The moth lends a whimsical narrative through which she tries to convey a sense of wonder about the world around her, inviting the viewer into realms where every living thing is sacred and anything is possible.
In her paintings, Monica concentrates on revealing the hidden worlds found in the quiet corners of most gardens when the viewer or artist takes the time to detect and interpret these more intimate spaces. Her wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.
